Teams are formed as natural disasters take place around our country. Many of the teams require training through IBSA.

IBSA has approved our Thanksgiving feeding teams and wants us to get the team(s) together!  We will be serving FL/GA hurricane area along with the MO Baptist teams, relieving current team(s).  The teams will be serving on November 20-25.  We need team(s) of 10-12 volunteers (IBSA training not required, but training is available at Lake Sallateeska on Oct. 19-20).  The  team will also be taking HUG hygiene bags down.  Please see DBC office or Robin Johnston If interested or with hygiene donations.

NO GREATER LOVE-NEW ORLEANS

No Greater Love Ministries: "Putting the Gospel into the hands of faithful men."

"No Greater Love Ministries is a non-denominational, mission organization, focused on the task of spreading the Gospel through discipleship, using Jesus Christ as our model.  We use "The Great Commission" (Matthew 28:18-20) as our strategy and the actions of Jesus as our example to witness through global evangelism.  Our ministry stands behind the principle, "No one has it ALL together; but TOGETHER we have it ALL!

Bro. Brent Holloway will be taking a group of men to New Orleans during Mardi Gras to share the gospel. Dates for the 2019 year trip will be March 1-5, 2019 . PLEASE SEE BRO. BRENT TO REGISTER FOR THE 2019 TRIP.

 Operation Christmas Child

OCC is a year round opportunity here at DBC to give children around the world some basic school supplies, hygiene items and small toys packaged in a shoebox. A monthly list of items needed is distributed to  church members so they can bring suggested items to prepare for the "packing party" that takes place in mid November. After the boxes are packed they are delivered to a distribution center in Atlanta GA where the boxes are processed to send to children around the world. Each year in early December a team of volunteers heads to Atlanta to the distribution center to help process shoe boxes coming in from churches and individuals around the country.

We have some openings for this year's Operation Christmas Child trip on December 4-7.
Tuesday: depart early for Atlanta, lunch in Chattanooga
Wednesday: work at the Operation Christmas Child Processing Plant in Atlanta from 9-5 pm
Dinner & shopping on your own at the Mall of Georgia
Thursday: travel home, stop for lunch, home by dinner

We will be staying at the Hampton Inn in Lawrenceville. Breakfast is included in your room.
Total cost for room (2 nights)
1 per room $ 220
2 per room $ 110 (each person)
3 per room $73.33 (each person)
4 per room $55 (each person)
Sign up immediately, last day for payment is November 4.
Please contact Cynthia Fox O'Connor or Judy Taylor as soon as possible if you are interested in traveling to Atlanta to the Distribution Center.

Local Christians around the world  are taught to host a successful shoebox outreach event where they share the Gospel and invite children to participate in follow-up discipleship. Children are taught from a booklet full of colorful pictures and a suggested Scripture to be used as they present the Gospel message in a child-friendly way. After boys and girls hear the Good News, they receive a surprise that may be their first gift ever. They hold in their hands a tangible expression of God’s love...a shoe box filled with things they may not have ever had in their lives.
